Gunsmiths from Bengsston are famous for weapons that have won wars for their country, and the M1940-80 is no exception. This compact field gun served the armed forces of Lockel throughout the Second World War.

Designed in 1939, the M1940 entered production in the year after which it is named, the same year that the Japanese presence in the Pacific was first threatened by the Lokkel. Since the beginning of the war, this gun was produced en masse, most of the samples fell on the islands of the Pacific Ocean, in particular on Muratori. However, some of them took part in the battles in the heart of Lockell, on the streets of Frustrum and the fields of Callington.

In 1941 and later, a shortened version was produced for the Marines, which was used on Muratoris as often as the original version. It was designated as M1940-80F. Both the shortened and full-size versions were installed on both the crosspiece and the carriage. Cruciform mounts had the advantage of being able to rotate around the perimeter, but were less portable, less secure and had a larger silhouette. The wheeled carriage was lower and more portable, but could not move from side to side.

Some of these tools are still used in ceremonies, and are also used in mountainous areas to descend avalanches. Many of them are in museums all over Lokkel. Any military collection is considered incomplete without one such cannon, since thousands and thousands of them have been built. Some relics lie unkempt in Muratoris, including former defensive fortifications on the island of Estocastica.

Specifications

The 80 mm shells fired by this gun are very powerful and are capable of disabling most tanks and fortifications with relative ease. The traverse and ascent are quite fast, although the bearings in the crosspiece are slightly faulty, which is why the gun slowly turns to the resting position. Nevertheless, it is a good tool.
