KrAZ-260 is a three-axle off-road truck designed for the transportation of goods, personnel and towing trailers off-road and on roads of all categories. The development of the KrAZ-260 off-road truck began at the design bureau of the Kremenchug Automobile Plant in the 1960s under the leadership of the chief designer V. V. Tabolin. Serial production began in 1981 and was carried out in parallel with the KrAZ-255B1. KrAZ-260 was intended to replace the KrAZ-255B. The release of KrAZ-260 continued until 1993, a total of 15,279 units were produced.
