This script turns car exhaust smoke black.

In addition, transparency (= how much black smoke) is affected by engine power, i.e. more powerful engines smoke a little more.
However, to maintain realism, the effect is rather weak. If you're looking for a black cloud of smoke, you're in the wrong place.
