MOD VAZ 2129 NIVA FOR CITY CAR DRIVING 1.5.9 - 1.5.9.2

VAZ-2129 is a three-door long-wheelbase version of the Niva SUV, which was produced in small series in Togliatti from 1994 to 1996

- The prototype of the Niva with an increased wheelbase was made at AvtoVAZ in 1992, but this car was not planned to be mass-produced
- It was used for running tests of components and assemblies of a promising minivan
- The long test "Niva" aroused public interest, and in 1994 the pilot production of AvtoVAZ began small-scale production of the model,
received the index VAZ-2129 (sometimes it was called the unofficial name "Cedar")
- The three-door SUV received a wheelbase increased by half a meter and an insert in the middle of the body
- The technical "filling" remained the same as that of the "Niva": a 1.7-liter gasoline engine (80 hp),
five-speed "mechanics", permanent four-wheel drive with a reduction gear and a center differential lock
- A small number of cars were equipped with 1.6-liter engines
