MOD CAR PORSCHE 911 GT2 993 (1995) FOR CAR MECHANIC SIMULATOR 2018

The fourth generation 911 and the latest Porsche machine, built in the concept proposed back in the thirties by Ferdinand Porsche himself: rear-engine layout, boxer air-cooled engine. In addition, the 993 became the next (third) reincarnation of the classic Porsche 911: the engine, exterior dimensions and the styling of the body, right down to the angle and shape of the windshield, all had the most direct origin from the first 911 presented at the Paris Motor Show in the fall of 1964. And everything that allowed the technology of more or less mass production of the mid-90s, everything was implemented in this machine.

Despite the strong external resemblance to the 911 Classic and 964, this model does not have a single part in its body structure from its predecessors, with the exception of a separate fastener. The exterior design was developed by the British Tony Hatter, who adapted the general styling of the classic 964 to the requirements of the moment: integrated bumpers, beveled headlights, moderately widened wing arches - all this as if continuing the general curvature of the body lines. The absolute recognition of the machine, not only as a 911, was successfully implemented.

Air-cooled motors were the latest developments in the concept of the 911 Classic air-cooled engine, complemented by newly discovered technological capabilities. Of the four engines used on the machine, one was upgraded from 964, one was 100% individual, and two were assembled only on the Type-964 cylinder block with a complete update of other components and the use of new hitherto not used modifications of the power system. The transmission received its own mechanical gearboxes and its all-wheel drive system. Automatic transmission Tiptronic saved. In the entire chassis design, only the front axle architecture from 964 was used without massive direct borrowing of parts; rear suspension - from the 989 that was not put into production; brakes and steering - upgraded to the requirements of the chassis and power of new motors. The interior, as well as the exterior, retained direct continuity with the style of its predecessors, with the complete replacement of all parts and the use of new materials.

In 1997, it was replaced by the new 911 generation - the Porsche 996, but continued to be produced in parallel until the end of the 1998 model year due to high demand. The model became the highest and absolute development of the idea of a rear-engine car with an air-cooled engine, and the end of its release completed the fifty-year history of this idea, which brought Porsche fame around the world.
