MOD Mercedes-Benz E550 Coupe (C207) FOR CAR MECHANIC SIMULATOR 2018 Mercedes-Benz W212 - the fourth generation of E-class passenger cars The Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 generation is represented by a wide range of bodies. The sedan (W212) was the first to go on sale in the spring of 2009. In May 2009, the E-Class coupe under the C207 index came to replace the CLK-Class coupe and convertible, and a little later, towards the end of 2009, sales of the S212 station wagon began. As a finishing touch, another member of the generation, the luxury A207 convertible, went on sale in March 2010. All these cars belong to the fourth generation of the E-class itself or the ninth generation of the executive class cars produced by Mercedes-Benz, if we take the legendary Mercedes "Ponton" W120 of the 1950s as a starting point - by the way, its protruding rear wheel arches, reminiscent of a rocket wing inspired the creators of the E-Class to add this little retro element to the new model. Selected exterior design elements have been borrowed from the C-Class W204 and S-Class W221. The model is offered with gasoline and diesel engines ranging from 1.8 to 6.2 liters and has rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. In 2013, the E-Class underwent a deep facelift. The shape of the rear fenders has become less prominent, the car has received new headlights, bumpers, minor changes in the interior and equipment. The sedan and station wagon are built on the same platform, while the coupe and convertible share platform and wheelbase with the C-Class W204, but more than 60% of the mechanical components, including powertrain and technology, as well as many new and standard features are shared with the W212 sedan. It is easy to imagine the level of equipment of the E-Class, even if we list the equipment of the most inexpensive version of the sedan, which includes front fog lamps, bi-xenon headlights with washers, LED taillights, alloy wheels 205/60 R16, rain and light sensors, electric heating injectors windscreen washer and side mirrors, leather upholstery and steering wheel braid, heated and electric front seats, parking sensors, climate control, on-board computer, lighting when entering the salon. The options include an electric sunroof (for expensive versions - a panoramic roof), an engine start button, heated rear seats, a cooled glove box, cruise control, etc., not to mention a variety of multimedia technologies with the possibility of individual selection of equipment. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has a very wide range of petrol and diesel engines. The model with the E 200 index was originally equipped with an 184-horsepower 1.8 four-cylinder engine. Its 270 Nm of maximum torque (1800 - 4600 rpm) guarantees acceleration to a maximum speed of 232 km / h and up to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds with manual transmission (7.9 seconds with automatic transmission). Average fuel consumption is 6.5-7.4 liters, depending on the type of gearbox used. Since 2014, a two-liter "four" (211 hp) is offered. Of course, a more suitable option is V-shaped gasoline "sixes" (from 3 liters) and "eights" (from 4.7 liters), the choice of which is very diverse in terms of power (from 230 hp and above). The most powerful of the original engines in the series is the 6.2-liter V8 with 525 hp. and 630 Nm of torque, providing acceleration to "hundreds" in 4.3 seconds, was replaced in 2011 by a new twin-turbo engine - a 5.5-liter V8 with 557 hp. (720 Nm), and later, with the introduction of the E 63 AMG S model, its power reached a mind-boggling 585 hp. and 800 Nm of torque. With this potential, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes just 3.6 seconds. There are also diesel engines - four-cylinder in-line with a volume of 2.1 liters (136-231 hp) and three-liter V6 (204-265 hp). Undercarriage design Mercedes-Benz E-Class - fully independent multi-link suspension front and rear; disc brakes on all wheels, ventilated discs in the front front (and on modifications with more powerful engines - in the rear); an adaptive Direct Control suspension is available as an option, which is standardly installed on expensive models. All modifications are equipped with a Direct-Steer rack and pinion steering gear, which has a variable tooth pitch and is supplemented by a hydraulic booster. The minimum turning radius of the sedan and station wagon is 5.7 meters, for the coupe and convertible - 5.5 due to the shorter wheelbase and front / rear track. The ninth generation E-Class has received a number of new safety systems: Driver Fatigue Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition. New features for driving efficiency and comfort for the driver and passengers include “active” multicontour seats, which feature individually adjustable inflatable air chambers that adapt to the anatomical features of the figure, which for the driver, in particular, helps to reduce fatigue. In addition, the E-Class is equipped as standard with a stability control system, a full set of airbags (front, side, curtains). The reputation of the model, its quality and reliability, is so high that the price for many Mercedes-Benz E-Class buyers is of secondary importance. Another thing is important - the choice of models and modifications is so wide that it covers a huge range of clients, including corporate or private exclusive requests for luxury and sports versions. For many, the choice of all-wheel drive modifications matters. However, the opportunity to save money when choosing a used car should not be discounted. But do not forget that the Mercedes E-Class is in the top 10 most stolen cars. Credits: deadbob777 |
