Mach Five is the Speed ​​Racer (Go Mifune in Japanese version) in the anime series of the same name (known in Japan as "Mach Go! Go! Go!"). The car was designed, built and built by Pops Racer (Daisuke Mifune), the father of Speed ​​Racer. It features a selection of special gadgets that Speed ​​Racer uses throughout the series. In the original 1967 series, the Mach Five is a white racing car with an "M" on the hood (which does not mean "Mach 5," but instead means "Mifune," both Guo's last name and that of his father's automobile company). In the 1993 American remake, the design was completely redesigned.

Its name is probably due to the fact that speeds in excess of the flash speed in the 60s Mach 5 are known as hypersonic. However, Mach 5 cannot reach Mach speed. The name is also a pun in two languages: the word for "five" in Japanese is "to go." However, the word "go" used in the name of the car is a suffix attached to the names of ships, etc. Thus, in the Japanese version, the car is known simply as "Mach".
