Italian sports car Maserati GranTurismo made its debut in Geneva in March 2007. The machine is designed on a modified Quattroporte platform. The original wheelbase was shortened by 12.5 centimeters; rear overhang also shortened; the body has become tougher by 30%. The engine is shifted back, which allowed a little closer to the perfect weight distribution along the axes, reaching a ratio of 49:51. The power of the 4.2-liter power unit GranTurismo is 405 horsepower. The motor is aggregated by a six-speed automatic transmission ZF.
The design of the car body was developed by Pininfarina. Externally, the car resembles not only the Quattroporte, but also the Maserati 3200GT.
Thanks to the long wheelbase and short overhangs, four people can comfortably sleep inside the car. It is noteworthy that among all the systems there was a place for a 40 GB hard disk. For the best acceleration and no slip, the four-seater coupe is equipped with a self-locking differential. The Maserati GranTurismo model served as the basis for many modifications: the charged S, the conceptual MS, the Sport Line Sport and the GranCabrio convertible.

The interior used only leather and plastic. From the original GranTurismo car mainly differs in transmission and forced engine. As a result, the dynamics of the Maserati GranTurismo S has increased. Thus, the maximum speed of the car increased by 10 km / h and is 295 km / h, and the acceleration time to the first hundred decreased by 0.3 seconds to 4.9 seconds. Thus, the car was the fastest in the history of the brand. Optionally, the car is equipped with an adaptive suspension Skyhook.

The Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic is a modification of the GranTurismo S, equipped with a six-speed ZF automatic transmission, Skyhook electronic-controlled adaptive suspension, side spoilers, 20-inch Trident wheels, support for Bluetooth wireless technology, and an interface for connecting an iPod.
The car debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009. The dynamics of the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic are somewhat worse than the “original”: up to 100 km / h the car accelerates in 5 seconds, while the GranTurismo S in 4.9 seconds. However, the maximum speed of two cars is the same 295 km / h, provided by a 440-horsepower V8 engine.
Poltrona Frau leather is used to decorate the car’s interior. Sports front seats got electric adjustment and improved shock absorption. Easy access to the rear seats is provided by a special system that shifts the front seats forward.
The driver is offered a choice of four types of control:
