Mod 2005 Ford Mustang Convertible for Car Mechanic Simulator 2018

Fifth generation

At the North American International Auto Show in 2004, Ford introduced the completely redesigned Mustang, code-named “S-197,” which was based on the new D2C platform. From a technical point of view, it was a simplified and cheaper version of the DEW rear-wheel drive architecture (DEW98), known for 2002 Ford Thunderbird, 2000 Lincoln LS and first-generation Jaguar S-Type and XF sedans. The main difference was the use of continuous rear axle instead of multi-link independent suspension. Developed under the leadership of Hau Thai-Tang Chief Engineer and designer Sid Ramnarace, the fifth-generation Mustang externally repeats the fastback of the late 1960s. The senior vice president of the project, J Mays, called this style "retro futurism." The fifth generation Mustang was assembled in Flat Rock in Michigan at a joint venture between Ford and Mazda (AutoAlliance International)

The base model is equipped with a 4.0-liter Ford V6 engine with a SOHC gas distribution system, which replaced the 3.8-liter version used since 2004. The new engine produces 210 horsepower at 5300 rpm and a torque of 325 Newton meters at 3500 rpm. This engine comes standard with the Tremec T-5 standard five-speed manual gearbox. An optional five-speed automatic gearbox “5R55S” is installed.

The GT version highlights the 4.6 L SOHC “Modular” V8 with 3 valves per cylinder and a VCT variable valve timing system that delivers 300 hp. (224 kW), modified suspension settings, large fog lights in the front grill and dual rear exhaust. The 2005 version has an approximate weight to power ratio of 11.5 pounds per horsepower. Although the GT is equipped with the same automatic transmission as the V6 model, the Tremec 3650 5-speed manual gearbox can optionally be installed, with which you can use the additional power of the GT model more efficiently. It is worth mentioning the Shelby GT-H (2006-2007), Shelby GT (2007-2008) as a subclass of the GT version with a slight increase in power and a specific design package, and the Shelby GT500, sold since May 2006, equipped with a 5.4L engine 500 h.p. (370 kW).

Photos of the updated 2010 model, which began production in April 2009, were presented on the Internet even before the car was shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show [

The updated Mustang received a new body iron (with the exception of the roof) and a more aggressive design. It looks more compact compared to its predecessors, but the actual dimensions have remained unchanged. At the same time, the drag coefficient decreased by 4% in the base version and by 7% in the GT version. The car was designed by Peter’a Horbury, director of Ford’s North American division, with a 4.6L v8 engine that now delivered 315 hp. and moment 441 N * m. The 5.4L Shelby GT500 engine increased power to 540 hp.

In addition, in 2011 the engine line was updated: the new 3.7L V6 with an aluminum block with a power of 305 hp and a torque of 380 N * m replaced the base 4-liter, while lightening the car by 18 kilograms. The GT version received a 32-valve engine of 5.0 liters (the so-called Coyote 5.0) with a capacity of 412 hp. (307 kW) and a torque of 530 Nm on gasoline with an octane rating of 91, or 402 liters. with. (300 kW) and a torque of 511 N · m on gasoline with an octane rating of 87. However, some tests have shown that Ford underestimates the power of this engine, and the actual power reaches 435 liters. with. The 5.4L Shelby GT500 engine received an aluminum block, losing 46 kg in weight and increased to 550 liters. with. power.

In 2012, the new Mustang Boss 302 was introduced, with the Hi-Po 302 Ti-VCT V8 engine, a version of the Coyote 5.0 with an increased valve lift height and lightweight parts, with a capacity of 444 liters. with. (520 Nm).

In the spring of 2012, versions of the 2013 model year were presented: the V6 and GT received air intakes and grilles like the 2011 GT500 version. The engine of the GT version increased power by 8 liters. with. (up to 420 hp (313 kW)). The Shelby GT500 received a new 6.8-liter 5.8L V8 engine. with. (494 kW) (which is a record for v8 engines) and a top speed of over 320 km / h. LED headlights are now standard, not an option. The 6-speed automatic has the ability to manually switch (optional).
