Mod 1969 Austin FX4 for Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 Austin FX4 is a classic London "black cab" (Black Cab). While most cars were black, in fact there was no requirement in London for the color of taxi cars to be necessarily black. For many years of production, the FX4 model was sold under brands of various producers. In total, this car was in production from 1958 to 1997. Conservative Austin FX4 had a body on frame design, independent front suspension and solid rear axle. For passengers were designed spacious rear seats, and the front passenger seat was missing, in its place was a platform for Luggage. Most of the units and assemblies were borrowed from the serial "Austin" of those years, including a 2.2-liter diesel engine (55 HP) paired with an automatic transmission. In 1961 there was a modification with "mechanics", and a year later — a version with a petrol 2.2-liter engine (68 forces), but they were not popular with taxi drivers. Since 1982, the company Carbodies, which produced before the body for Austin FX4, bought all the rights to this model from the British automobile Corporation British Leyland and began production of taxis under its own brand — Carbodies FX4, installing them on a new diesel engine from Land Rover. In 1984 the London taxi International (LTI) company which United producers of model FX4 and a dealer network Mann and Overton is formed. Since then, the taxi was produced under the brand LTI FX4. Also, the engine was again replaced with a new 2.5-liter diesel. In February 1989, a version of "Fairway"was presented. It was equipped with a 2664 CC diesel engine produced by Nissan. This made the FX4 a faster and more reliable taxi. The new version had full wheelchair access, under a new law that came into force in January 1989. Fairway was the best version of the FX4 model ever built, which allowed LTI to enter foreign markets, as well as great demand for these machines in the provincial cities of the UK. Credits: Gollywog |
