MOD CAR 1967 FERRARI 330 P4 FOR CAR MECHANIC SIMULATOR 2018

Ferrari 330 P4 was created by Italian designers under the leadership in 1967 with the aim of participating in the race "Le Mans" Mauro Forghieri. This explains the fact that a lot of technical moves and solutions were used in the design of the sports car, typical for the design of Formula 1 cars.

At the Le Mans race in 1966, the Ferrari team suffered a bitter defeat - all three prizes were taken by Ford cars GT 40 Mk II. " In 1967, Ferrari introduced the answer to the Ford GT - 330 P4.

P4 was a purebred racing car, and at the same time it was not another refinement of the predecessor 330 P3, it was distinguished primarily by the new 3-liter “Lampredi” V12 engine. The motor had 3 valves per cylinder and Lucas fuel injection was already used.

Engine power was 450-480 hp And the maximum speed was 338 km / h. The team abandoned the unreliable ZF gearbox, instead using a proprietary gearbox in the P4 prototypes. The gearbox here used a five-speed with a three-disk clutch.

Only three Ferrari 330 p4s were built, chassis number 0856, 0858 and 0860. In addition, Ferrari upgraded one last year's 330 P3 0846 for racing to the P4 specification. These four cars represented the factory team in 1967.

The racing season began with the complete dominance of Ferrari. In the 24-hour Daytona race, the team occupied the entire podium.
Enzo Ferrari managed to rehabilitate his reputation in America, Ford's sweet revenge.

Photos with the finish of three cars then circled the whole world. Bandini took first place together with Chris Amon. Finishing in second and third place, the Ferrari Parks / Scarfiotti and Rodriguez / Goucher crews were four laps behind the winners. The next race of 12 hours Sebring remained with Ford, officially Ferrari missed this race in preparation for Monza. In Italy, Lorenzo Bandini and Chris Amon from New Zealand won the second time this season, at first only Chaparral prototypes competed with them, but they left the race to the delight of Tiffozi.
May 7, 1967, for the Bandini race in Monaco began the season in Formula 1.
Starting second, he became the leader, but on the second round of the leading Bandini beat Hume. By the second half of the distance, Bandini was able to reduce the lead from the leader, but a tragedy happened in lap 82.
The Italian car at full speed hit the mooring pedestal, the car rolled over and caught fire. Having received burns of 70% of the body, Lorenzo lived another three days.
A few weeks after the tragedy, in June 1967, the Ferrari team went to France for 24 hours Le Mans without their leader. In that race, the winners were Americans A.J. Voith and Dan Gurney from the Ford team. Second place went to Ferrari 330P4 Italian Ludovico Scarfiotti and Briton Michael Parks with a gap of almost four laps. An interesting incident occurred at night. Gurney was the leader on the GT40 and behind him was Parks from Ferrari. Parks lagged four laps, but did not overtake Ford. For several miles, he hung on the tail and sometimes blinked high beams, until the annoyed Gurney just stopped on the sidelines to let his opponent pass. Parks stopped behind him and turned off the headlights, for several minutes the two riders sat in the darkness without moving, until Parks moved first. Each car has maintained its position until the finish line.

5 races were counted in the world championship among prototypes, the fate of the champion title was decided in the UK.

The BOAK 500 race took place in Brands Hatch. Ferrari prepared for this race, removing the roof, this modification dropped about 40 kg of weight.
Jackie Stewart was called to help in a pair with Chris Amon.
In that race, luck finally smiled at American Chaparral Phil Hill prototypes. The second place went to Jackie Stewart and Chris Amon, bringing Ferrari a cup of designers. Porsche won third place.

In the race with Ferrari there was an unpleasant incident, Paul Hawkins on the generated Ferrari drove into the boxes for repairs at a time when Stuart's crew had to call for refueling. The Ferrari leadership was hysterical, because the faulty car blocked the narrow pitlane. This episode not only cost leadership in the race, but almost deprived them of hope for the championship.
After the 1967 season, the rules were changed to outlaw such prototypes.
